As a Parish Council we are frequently asked “where do I report this?”

Within the Parish of Holt, responsibility for managing, maintaining and repair is split between a number of different authorities, and they each now have a simple on-line reporting system which can be used by everyone to report issues that they see.

If you see it then you can report it straight away, and the necessary authority can then start to work on a solution, it will also help that the authorities see number of issues that are being identified by the residents of the Parish when it comes to prioritising the work that is needed.

So, who is responsible for what?

Any issues related to roads, pavements, public footpaths, flooding on the highways, signage on the highways, street lighting or mud or oil spillages on the road are the responsibility of Worcestershire County Council, they now have a simple on-line reporting system which allows any member of the public to report on issues, the system allows you to identify where the problem is and to upload photos of the issue if you have them. The reporting system can be accessed on their website at Report a road or path issue | Worcestershire County Council, simple select the type of issue you want to report and follow the instructions, they will acknowledge your reporting of the issue and will get back to you with the actions they will be taking. The County Council also now have taken responsibility for the operation of Trading Standards, please see Worcestershire Trading Standards Services | Worcestershire County Council.

For any Issues that relate to such things as emptying of the bins, fly tipping, street cleaning, dog fouling (on public land), dead animals, graffiti and flyposting, needles and syringes, littering and abandoned vehicles, are the responsibility of Malvern Hills District Council, on their website they also have a report it page, Report it – Malvern Hills District Council, this then has links to the various departmental pages where you can report a specific issue. This page also contains links to other useful pages where you can see where to get help related to such issues as housing, benefits, council tax, planning etc.

There is also a link on the Malvern Hill’s page to the Worcestershire Regulatory Service page.

Worcestershire Regulatory Services (WRS) is a shared service delivering Environmental Health functions (food safety, health and safety and many aspects of pollution control) and Licensing administration on behalf of the six district councils in Worcestershire, they also deliver Environmental Health and Licensing functions and are responsible for dealing with nuisance issues. They also have a simple on-line reporting system which can be accessed through their website at Report It/Request It | Worcestershire Regulatory Services, there is also an email address and contact phone number on this page for any general enquiries.
